Congratulations to all the beautiful, talented Cowgirl Queen contestants who represented Hamilton County at the Iowa State Fair – MaKayla Cavan (HCSC jr queen), Cassie Vold (HCSC sr queen), Koryne Carlson, Meredith Puls, Lizzy Welke and Brittany Nicholson. Everyone did a wonderful job!
The next saddle club event will be a closed fun show on Saturday September 10th starting at 6:00 pm, NOT at 1:30 like originally scheduled. Also, there will not be a cookout/bonfire like stated on the schedule. Board members will be chairing this event, which will be the last closed fun show of the 2011 year. Let’s make it a good one!
The 6th Annual Haren Cross Country Trail Ride and Barn Dance will be held Saturday September 17th. The ride will leave from the Haren South Ranch (2700 block of Inkpaduta Ave, Webster City) at NOON and ride to the HCSC grounds. There will be a potluck and dance with karaoke at the Haren home from at 8 pm. Bring a potluck dish to share, lawn chairs and whatever drink you wish. The last scheduled event is the annual meeting and awards banquet on January 22nd 2012. This will be a potluck from noon-5 pm at Fuller Hall in Webster City. Contact any board member with questions. Also, if anyone has ideas for year end prizes please let me know, any suggestions would be appreciated!
***A quick reminder – to use the saddle club arena, you must be paid up on your memberships! If you haven’t paid them yet, please do so at the next event or send them to Laura Hunt, our treasurer. We also ask members to please help in obtaining sponsorships to assist with yearly expenses and prizes. Thank you!***
Each member is asked to sell a $20 or $30 sponsorship to help with our yearly costs. Paid memberships are required for use of the saddle club arena. Memberships are $20 for single and $30 for family. There is a membership application on the website that we would like you to use to get us accurate contact and age information. Keep in mind that money is used for show expenses, prizes, and year end awards, so it is important that all members help sell sponsorships. Thank you in advance!
